FOODPARK PARTNERS WITH LOCAL CHARITY WINTERCOMFORT

Cambridge-based street food collective foodPark has announced that it is partnering with local homelessness charity Wintercomfort this year. The partnership entails a number of fundraising initiatives including an online donation option for customers, food festival events when circumstances allow, plus access to work experience and mentoring from foodPark’s food truck chefs to help service users gain the skills and resources needed to bring lasting, positive change to their lives. All donations to Wintercomfort help to fund daily, nutritious hot meals to those who need themmost. Rebecca Chong, director at foodPark, said: “It was important to us that foodPark’s charity partnership was a local cause, with food at the centre of what it does. We are really excited be supporting such a fantastic charity, and hope that through fundraising and practical support initiatives we can make a big difference to the homeless community in Cambridge.” As well as practical support with hot meals, clothing and laundry services, Wintercomfort offers an extensive range of counselling, including support with addiction and mental health issues, plus education, training, housing advice and employment opportunities. “Wintercomfort is thrilled to have been chosen as foodPark’s charity partner,” says Melody Brooker, Wintercomfort’s fundraising manager. “As Cambridge’s only day centre for the homeless and vulnerably housed, the provision of hot meals is an important part of our support. We are experiencing demand on our services, and a rising cost of meals and delivery, so we are very grateful for foodPark’s support.” foodparkcam.com

At this new site, you can expect healthy and innovative vegan cuisine in a stylish setting. We’ve watched the amazing CB1 regeneration project grow over the past few years, and we are really looking forward to joining now it’s nearing its completion. For us, it’s the most exciting quarter in our home town of Cambridge.” The site, designed by world-renowned designer Afroditi Krassa, is built to work for both dining and the restaurant’s rapidly growing off-site sales, and features a large outdoor terrace. Keep your eyes peeled for news on the official opening in spring. stemandglory.uk
