A MONTHLY ROUND-UP OF GASTRO GOINGS-ON AROUND CAMBRIDGESHIRE

AMELIE NATIONWIDE DELIVERY

Amélie Flame-kuche fans rejoice; you can now get your flammekueche fix delivered direct to your door wherever you are, thanks to the restaurant’s new nationwide delivery. After its DIY flammekueche flatpacks proved to be a hit for locals over lockdown, the restaurant is tackling the UK as a whole, in the hope that its unique dishes will take the country by storm. Amélie co-founder Alex Crépy said: “We just cannot wait to expand throughout the UK. Everyone who tries our flammekueche is just blown away by the unexpected fresh taste – they assume it’s like pizza. Though popular overseas, it’s quite unknown here, so we rechristened it ‘flam-kuche’ for ease of pronunciation, and are looking forward to sharing this simple yet delicious and easy-to-make dish through our flatpack.” You can order your kit (starting from £16.95) on the Amélie website. National delivery takes up to two working days, with orders placed after Friday morning sent the following Monday (local deliveries continue throughout the weekend). amelierestaurants.co.uk

NO WHEY! Plant-based products are slowly but surely taking over the world, and a new company in St Ives is joining the ranks to prove that plant-based cheese is just as good as the dairy stuff. No Whey! founder Ben Warran began controlling his diet to help manage his Crohn’s disease, developing products to meet his needs, and is now on a mission to help reduce the meat and dairy industry’s impact on our planet. “Our ambition is to fight climate change by making delicious plant- based cheese,” said Ben. “We aren’t preachy, but we want to make it easy for customers to work plant-based food into their lifestyle with delicious and well-priced products.” nowheyfood.co.uk
