FOOD & DR INK

A small farm in Hildersham has recently received national recognition, scooping up the Best Organic Producer Award at The Food and Drink Awards. Flourish Produce – established in 2017 and run by founder Calixta Killander, product manager Fabio and production manager Lughan – has built up quite the reputation over the past few years for its traditional farming methods and delicious organic produce. Flourish uses horses – specifically two French Comtois horses named Bill and Ben – rather than heavy machinery to work the land, nurturing and working in harmony with the soil, and producing a range of organic ingredients, the quality of which is hard to beat. The farm works with some of the best chefs in the country in a unique ‘seed to plate’ collaborative process and supplies several Michelin-starred restaurants. The Food and Drink Awards, which debuted in February, was hosted by Stephen Fry and broadcast on ITV, celebrating some of the nation’s world-class culinary talent. The award winners were chosen by a committee of industry experts, specialising in everything from haute cuisine to street food, and honoured those who have played a part in the UK’s ongoing FLOURISH WINS BEST ORGANIC PRODUCE AWARD
