SEGMENTATION AND SYNCRONISATION

It includes functionalities such as segmentation, recording and packaging, as well as offering cloud-based channel regionalisation and multiscreen subtitling. Segmentation and synchronisation capabilities are important for high- quality streaming. With features such as synchronised redundant video streams, StreamBuilder can eliminate drift caused by poorly encoded inputs, resolve glitches

when doing failover between encoders, and correct content bleed between ad and content segments. This enables broadcasters and content owners to attract viewers and advertisers by increasing reach and adding relevance to their content and service offerings. StreamBuilder also includes a multi-device subtitling functionality, which enables easy image-to-text subtitling for online TV.

Edgeware has announced the launch of StreamBuilder. Already deployed in several of Edgeware’s customer networks, StreamBuilder provides broadcasters, content owners and distributors (including telco and cable TV providers) with advanced technology to create next-generation online TV.

UNREAL IPSUM

Unreal Engine for downstream channel production, tickers, promotions, branding and weather graphics. Ipsum 2.0 with Unreal Engine 4 enables HD/4K-SDI real-time 3D graphics output with live data content. The integration with Pixel Streaming provides a real-time 3D graphics IP streaming URL output that is used inside Ipsum 2.0 for browser- based real-time preview. This in turn can be embedded easily into any web page, or used as a graphics output for cloud video production switchers or online streaming channels.

New York-based software solutions studio Polygon Labs has announced the latest version of its data and aggregation and visualisation platform, Ipsum 2.0. Designed for broadcast news, sports, weather and branding, this update includes integration with Epic Games’ powerful creation platform Unreal Engine 4 and Pixel Streaming. This will allow Unreal Engine to stream its graphics output to remote browsers and mobile devices over WebRTC. This is the first time that Polygon Labs has integrated with

UPGRADES AND FIRMWARE An upgrade has been released by Magewell for its Ultra Stream family of live streaming encoder hardware. Available in all-new units and as a free firmware update for existing customers, version 1.3 adds new recording modes alongside expanded streaming protocol support and various minor refinements. Designed for users who want to stream but have minimal technical knowledge, Magewell’s Ultra Stream encoders are useful for addressing the increased demand for live streaming created by social distancing restrictions. The upgrade adds a user- selectable Auto-Recording options that automatically starts recording to internal storage, a USB drive or both when a stable input signal is detected. This enables ‘zero-touch’ recording and ensures producers don’t miss any action. The update also adds support for the RTSP streaming protocol, expanded controls in the web-based interface, new tools for downloading recorded clips and image adjustments, including brightness, contrast, saturation and hue.
