NO SLACKING With millions of active users, particularly during the global pandemic, Slack is the tool many are relying on. Adobe has therefore announced improvements for how Creative Cloud and Slack work together. This includes added support for Creative Cloud apps such as Adobe XD, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Acrobat. You can now get notifications on file activity – new comments, updates to links to creative files and more. This is all centralised in one place on your team channels. The latest release of the Creative Cloud integration works with Slack shared channels, a feature that lets you connect two independent organisations in the same virtual workspace. The addition of Activity Stream lets you pair published public links to your Adobe assets with a shared channel. There are also new bot commands and two- way commenting to allow you to respond to comments directly from Slack. ADOBE / SLACK adobe.com/uk / slack.com/intl/en-gb

LIVE IN SLOMO In May, Belgium-based provider of live video technology for broadcast and media productions, EVS, announced the launch of LSM-VIA. Based on its LSM live slow-motion control panel, this IP-based replay and highlights solution aims to address the expectations of live productions. Key aspects of the new tool include simple workflow integration, unique operational macros and semi- automated functionalities. It possesses

programmable buttons, shortcuts and tactile control, while the integrated touchscreen offers contextual menus to give operators what they need. It also allows users to easily organise network records, with direct access at the touch of a button. On top of this, working with the XT-VIA server and relying on EVS’s VIA microservices ecosystem, LSM-VIA has native IP connectivity. This commits it fully to the latest technologies – key for prospective operators.

SWITCHING STREAMS The Switch has launched MIMiC, an on-demand cloud-based production-as-a-service offering that gives broadcasters, streaming services, rights holders and enterprises access to remote production capabilities for live and virtual events of all sizes. Content producers can now leverage The Switch’s combination of cloud production capability and global THE SWITCH theswitch.tv

network reach to cost-effectively meet increasing demand for efficient, broadcast-quality production and social media engagement for live events. “This service is timely in a world clamouring for the return of live sports and entertainment, but equally aware of our new obligations for limited travel and social distancing,” says Eric Cooney, president and CEO of The Switch.

The launch of MIMic also reflects that, in a multi-device world, viewers are making the move from TV screens to watch live content – streaming and social media are driving viewer engagement. According to market research company GlobalWebIndex, one in five sports fans around the world now look for content on social media – an uptick of 45% in the last three years.
