OOYALA FLEX MEDIA PLATFORM STEPS UP The Ooyala Media Flex Platform, acquired by Dalet last summer, has been given a boost over the ensuing months to improve its user experience, core platform performance and features, APIs and OTT workflows. Dalet says the platform can now serve a wider range of organisations looking to improve their video strategy. Key developments for the platform include enhanced support for OVP and OTT workflows, including support for MPEG-DASH and increased support for complex metadata hierarchies and taxonomies. A new web interface has added advanced asset search capabilities, including descriptive and temporal metadata, easy metadata curation and tools for organising large asset collections. The interface also provides

audio waveform and level meters, and a frame-accurate HTML5 video player, plus MP4, MPEG-DASH and HLS with audio switching and captions. In addition to improving its scaleability across on-premises, cloud or hybrid

environments, the improved Media Flex Platform has an open API, so customers can develop plug-ins that can be deployed into the platform’s runtime. Dalet is aiming to continue to employ a rapid R&D schedule with ongoing monthly releases.
