IBC2018 KEYNOTES – Global players, business leaders and policymakers share their insights in a series of topical talks. GLOBAL GAMECHANGERS – The Global Gamechanger conference strand presents talks and panels with high profile business, creative, tech, news and future- facing talent. NEW PLATFORMS: INNOVATORS & DISRUPTORS – These sessions will explore the latest monetisation opportunities for content, as well as the next OTT disruptors and industry-shaping digital giants. AUDIENCES: ENGAGE. INFLUENCE. GROW. – The Audiences conference strand will look at practical ways to engage, cultivate and grow audiences of all types and sizes.

SESSIONS ARE LIKE A GEEK MEET-UP AND INSPIRATIONAL RETREAT LOUNGE TALKS – This new addition to the IBC Conference programme will feature a series of informal, lunchtime talks in the lounge of the RAI Forum. The talks will explore thought-provoking issues at the boundaries between culture and media technology. Presenters will examine such issues as: the relationships between AI and improvised theatre, how VR can preserve endangered human rituals, media in tourism, and the value of diversity. SMART CONNECTIVITY & MULTIPLAY DEVICES – 5G connectivity is just around the corner, and this strand will explore the effects the new technology will have on broadcasting and beyond. ADVERTISING: THE NEW ATTENTION ECONOMY – The Advertising conference strand will look at ways of maximising opportunities and revenue through tailored and targeted marketing. CUTTING-EDGE TECH INNOVATORS – This forward-facing strand will try to forecast what will be the next big gamechangers in media technology. NEXTGEN: INTERACTIVE & IMMERSIVE EXPERIENCES – The NextGen sessions will offer insights into new ways to bring viewers and fans closer to the action in sports (including esports) and live productions.

he IBC Conference is one of the top features of Amsterdam’s annual IBC Show. Often eclipsed by IBC’s massive tradeshow,

the Conference is where thought leaders and experts present their ideas, opinions and findings to an international audience. The IBC Conference sessions are like a university geek meet-up and inspirational retreat all in one. If you are attending IBC2018, we urge you to take time to explore as much of the conference as you can. And if you can’t afford to get into the big keynotes, this year will feature informal Lounge Talks where you can absorb some media-tech wisdom for free.
