The AmberFin transcode engine was initially designed to run on cost-effective, commodity IT hardware on-premises, but Dalet has released a new iteration of AmberFin that offers its high-quality transcode capabilities as a cloud-based service. The new AmberFin cloud transcoder service is accessed through the same workflow engine as the on-premises transcoder, but now users can immediately access extra processing power in the cloud any time they need it. “You now have the ability to control an on-premises, fixed-capacity deployment and a burst-capacity deployment from the same workflow engine,” says Eric Carson, Dalet’s

general manager for West Coast US & Canada, who is bringing his expertise in media processing to accelerate the AmberFin roadmap. “Every feature our customers know, like and love from the on-premises AmberFin also works in the cloud transcoder.
