hardware, which of course also includes streaming camcorders. Then, to reflect the industry’s move towards content creators, podcasting and streaming, we have expanded some categories this year. There’s a new class for speciality content creator cameras, such as action cameras or drones, as well as a class for hardware ideal for video podcasting. We have also introduced a class for editing∕workflow hardware to include colour calibration, light meters, screens and any other kit needed to produce great work. We’ve also added a specialist lighting class to include bulbs, practicals and tube lights, while a USB class has been added to the microphone section to reflect the boom in podcasting. Filmmaking is about far more than cameras, so the awards also celebrate the companies and services supporting creators behind the scenes, from software platforms and rental specialists to training providers and production services.
