THE MAGICAL Wild Wood Disco

everyone feels like family and we’re all part of something – after all, it’s the crowd that makes the party!” Diversity is front and centre of the line-up, with over 50% of acts female or non-binary and an LGBTQ-friendly atmosphere. From this year’s craft workshop, themed ‘light up the night’, to Hackney-hailing performance arts troupe Our Place, Vicky’s artistic flair is evident across the board, transforming the site into a vibrant maze of discoveries. Even the stages are hand-painted – with Vicky’s Paradise Lost stage one of her proudest works: “If I were a DJ, that’s where I’d want to play!” This year promises more sound healing and wellness workshops alongside disco yoga and more. Cambridge natives Secretsundaze will be headlining for the festival’s Sunday finale. “There’s no need to travel to London or Ibiza for a good night out that weekend,” says Vicky. “Cambridge is lucky enough to have that on its doorstep.”

If you’re dreaming of dancing under the stars to the sound of a dazzling array of talent, look no further than Wild Wood Disco. With secluded stages, mesmerising art installations and sunset views, this festival offers a carefully crafted experience which is that extra bit special – allowing partygoers to carouse the night away while watching the sun disappear into a glittering night. Vicky Fenton, who founded the festival in 2017, was struck by divine inspiration when she first visited the woodland site. “It reminded me of my favourite bits of Shambala, Boomtown and Secret Garden Party,” she says. “I felt inspired by the clearings in the trees, the vantage points for the sunsets; I knew I could create a really amazing party there.” Now in its sixth year, Wild Wood Disco has grown from one stage to five. And yet, its charm remains in its smallness. “I don’t want it to be a big festival,” explains Vicky. “Part of the magic is the size, the fact
