Used as a key light for talking-head videos, product photography, live streaming or tabletop filming, the FS60B provides more than enough output. It is equally useful as a fill, accent or hair light on larger productions, particularly where its compact size allows it to be hidden out of frame. Because it is so easy to mount in awkward locations, the free Neewer Studio app quickly becomes the preferred way to work. Alongside brightness and colour control, it provides access to four dimming curves, 12 built-in lighting effects, 11 simulated light sources and grouping functions for multi-light set-ups. A complete ecosystem One of the FS60B’s greatest strengths is the growing range of accessories built around it. The NS68P 12-inch quick-release octagonal softbox is particularly impressive. This pops open within seconds, includes internal and external diffusion panels plus a honeycomb grid and produces soft, flattering light that is ideal for interviews, portraits and creator content alike. For work on location, the optional PH74E battery grip is almost essential. It powers the light for around an hour at full output

while doubling as both a comfortable handheld grip and compact stand. It also includes 100W USB-C power delivery, allowing it to charge cameras, phones and other accessories between takes – one less charger to carry. For larger modifiers, the CHB1 Mini Mount to Bowens adapter opens the door to the huge range of Bowens softboxes, reflectors, fresnels and lanterns already used by many. While the adapter sensibly limits accessories to around 1.5kg, that is more than enough for the compact set-ups this light naturally suits.
Our rating: 8 /10 Neewer has produced something rather impressive in terms of size, performance and price. The FS60B isn’t trying to replace high-powered studio fixtures, but it fills an important role as a highly portable professional light that delivers excellent colour, surprising output and remarkable flexibility. Of course, it’s not a full-colour fixture, but as a bicolour light, it’s a bargain.
