PRO PERFORMERS – FOR THE WORKING PRO AT £5000
With this combination, nobody would believe you were on a limited budget and had a whole set of kit for five grand. The Canon EOS C100Mark II is the real deal, an HD cinema camera fitted with one of Canon’s L-spec professional lenses. Youmay have splashed out the majority of the budget on the camera and lens, but that’s what delivers the goods; you won’t be needing external recorders monitors or loupes, ND filters or XLR audiomixers. The C100Mark II has a Super 35-size sensor (so you can easily do shallow depth-of-field for a cinematic look) and an incredible Dual Pixel autofocus system. Switch the camera tomanual to enjoy all the benefits of a real cinema camera with focus peaking. The ISO goes up to 102,400 and there’s 60p slowmotion. 3 AUDIO ACCESSORY: RØDE WS6 DELUXE WINDSHIELD £42/$58 www.rode.com Wind noise is a huge headache when working on location, so you need an effective sound deadening device. Røde’s Deluxe Windshield is designed for the NTG-1 or any similarly sized shotgun mic. The Røde Deluxe windshield has a rubber base to stop wind from entering the rear of the microphone pickup area and has open-cell foam around the outside of the mic, then fur to keep wind noise at bay.

It’s great quality, delivers brilliant audio and is not too expensive. It needs phantom power from your provides, and at just 105g/3.7oz it’s very light, and can be used on a boom. 4 LIGHT: NANGUANG LED PAD LIGHT LUXPAD22 £45/$64 www.kenro.co.uk A light panel that can be used on the camera’s cold shoe for fill or off- camera is a useful addition to any bag, and the NanGuang LED Pad Light Luxpad22 fits the bill. It has 112 high efficiency LEDs, is adjustable from 3200-5600K in colour temperature, has a built-in diffuser, weighs just 300g and has multiple battery options.
