INDEPENDENT LIVING MADE EASY – AND AFFORDABLE! Housing provider bpha reveals two new Cambridgeshire schemes, offering a chance to enjoy an independent, sociable lifestyle, alongside first-class care and support

With the option of shared ownership, you can acquire a share of a property rather than purchasing it outright. This can be a great way to free up extra money to put towards those new life pursuits you’ve been waiting to take on — or to give you that extra bit of financial freedom to make life a little easier. If you purchase a 75% share, there’s no rent on the remaining 25%. And if a 50% share is purchased, then a subsidised rent is payable on the remaining 50%. A monthly service charge also applies, as do any care costs. To qualify for shared ownership, purchasers must meet three main criteria: • Occupants must be aged 55 or over. • Your annual household income can be no more than £80k. • You need to sell any existing property that you currently own before purchasing an apartment.
