the 1.62-million-dot LCD monitor is a vari-angle design, which hinges out from the camera and can be twisted around. Playing it cool With all-day shooting at events, or even out in the wild, X-H2S has it covered. To stop overheating during long takes in high temperatures, an optional cooling fan can be quickly fastened to the rear. Although noise from a fan is not usually an issue, it can be turned down if required. Sports shooters will also appreciate that Fujifilm offers two different optional grips. Both feature a second set of control buttons for vertical shooting. They take two Fujifilm NP-W235 batteries, to triple the shooting time when used alongside the battery in the camera. A USB-C power bank can extend this further. The standard vertical battery grip is the VG-XH, while the file transmitter FT-XH grip features wired LAN connectivity and high-speed wireless communications – ideal for professional sports shooters. It’s of course essential that a wide choice of top-quality lenses are available. The range of Fujifilm optics continues to expand, with two new lenses that are the perfect match for X-H2S. The new XF 150-600mm is ideal for sports and wildlife. But the most useful all-rounder is the stunning 18-120mm f/4 with a power zoom – perfect for video. Using technology from Fujifilm’s broadcast lens division, it is built to suppress any changes in angle of view while zooming or focusing. Although a great lens for stills, its real beauty is in filmmaking, with peerless quality and control. These clever solutions make Fujifilm and the new X-H2S the ultimate camera for sports and action, covering stills and video. With stills shooting at up to 40fps and HD video at a blistering 240fps, it’s a fast mover. The very latest innovations, plus amazing quality, put X-H2S at the forefront for those with a need for speed.

subject-recognition functions and enhance prediction algorithms. This boosts Zone AF and the capability to track a moving subject, even under low-contrast environments. A subject that keeps on moving can be tracked, from athletes to animals and more. Subject-detection AF, developed with Deep Learning technology, detects and automatically tracks not only the human face and eyes, but also animals, birds, cars, motorcycles, bicycles, planes and trains. There’s also an AF/MF setting where the camera works in autofocus until you move the focus ring, then reverts to full manual focus. A push of the rear AF ON button re-engages the autofocus system. For the best viewfinder experience, the EVF uses a 5.76-million-dot panel, with magnification of 0.8x and frame rate of approximately 120fps for superb subject tracking. in an edit-ready package, as well as H.265 and H.264 options, and your choice of All-Intra or the more compressed Long GOP. In ProRes, X-H2S also supports proxy recording to make edits even faster. To maximise dynamic range, Fujifilm F-Log colour setting is also included, as well as the new F-Log2 gamma, which expands dynamic range up to 14 stops or more. Many filmmakers stick to manual focus for documentary work, and of course the X-H2S has the tools to help – such as focus peaking and instant punch-in viewing. But it’s sports and action where autofocus is starting to take hold, with clever technology that can track fast-moving subjects better than even a highly trained focus puller. And X-H2S leads the way with dramatically evolved AF performance. There is an increased number of AF calculations per second to improve accuracy, provide
