superfast frame rates W ith a speedy new processor that makes it possible to record 8K ProRes RAW and ultra-quick 4K/120p footage, it’s no wonder the compact Atomos Ninja V+ was voted a winner in the Pro Moviemaker Gear of the Year Awards. It’s perfect for the latest generation of high-bit rate, high-bandwidth cameras. It allows the Canon EOS R5 to record 8K/30p in the flexible ProRes RAW format without any time limits. And it opens up 4K at 120fps for super slow-motion on cameras, like certain Z Cammodels, by capturing a Raw feed over HDMI. For users of selected cinema cameras that output over SDI, the Ninja V+ Pro Kit comes with the additional accessories and licence you need – including the AtomX SDI module – to enable 4K/120p ProRes RAW recording from the Sony FX6 and FX9. Included in the codec options on the Ninja V+ is the ability to record video inputs using 10-bit 4:2:2 H.265 (HEVC). This is for high-quality compressed
recordings with small file sizes, ideal for fast-paced delivery, streaming and sharing online. The Ninja V+ also enables 10-bit recording from a whole range of mirrorless and DSLR cameras, unlocking the real power of your sensor. Plus, ProRes Raw recording from 30 different cameras via HDMI. The Ninja V+ has a stealth grey bezel, the same size as the original Ninja V, so works withmost current rigs. The bright, five-inch display helps monitoring, thanks to tools like waveforms, false colour, vectorscope, focus peaking, instant zoom and anamorphic de-squeeze options. A built-in 3D LUT function allows you to use custom LUTs, or enable AtomHDR processing for built-in Log-to-HDR transforms. With an audio input jack, a 3.5mm headphone jack, remote jack, full-size HDMI input and output sockets, you can link it to another monitor. It’s powered by a single NP-F battery, but can also charge from the mains via the included adapter. Perhaps even more exciting are the
