saw some of the highest GCSE results in the school’s history when compared with those received pre-pandemic. Almost 75% of all grades received were 9, 8 or 7, and just over one in four were graded 9, the highest mark possible. A-level results were equally impressive with nearly 80% achieving A*-B. However, exam results are just the outcome; the process of teaching and learning is the core priority and remains at the centre of life at The Leys. HOME FROM HOME The Leys, at heart, is a school where 70% of pupils are fully immersed in boarding life. In addition to the conventional option of full boarding, it offers home boarding, giving pupils from local families the best of both worlds. choose from. Participation in the wider curriculum is important because it is enjoyable, but also as it helps to build confidence and soft skills that will prove vital in later life. There is no shortage of opportunity, from Combined Cadet Force to chess club, to DofE and drama workshops. Pupils are encouraged to involve themselves in as many options as possible. Sport plays a big part in developing key life skills – facilities to do so at The Leys are outstanding. SCHOLARSHIPS For those with a particular interest or talent, scholarships are available in academia, choral, sport, drama, music, art and STEM (STEM at 13+ only). Each award is worth 5% of the fees and pupils may apply for more than one. These may also be topped up with means-tested bursaries. More information can be found on the website.
