FEED: How could blockchain help small content creators and niche businesses?

“PEOPLEARE THINKINGABOUT CLOUD SERVICES, BUT I’MTHINKING ABOUTTHE INTERNET OFVALUE”

TRACIE MITCHELL: If you were a creator with an idea, you could store that idea using an NFT.You’re the only person who owns the digital asset related to that idea. You could do crowdfunding securely using blockchain, and understand who is giving you the funds. When the asset gets created, all the people in the production process could see the transactions around the movie and receive royalties in real time. We are looking at transitioning to ‘Web 3.0’ now, which is about leveraging the value within the internet. It means that every transaction has a value and that’s where we’re going. Companies need to look at it. How do I make every transaction have value? People are thinking about cloud services, but I’m thinking about the Internet Of Value.

The NFT boom is here to stay. NFTs are a unique proof of ownership for something you can’t hold in your hand, and digital media is a use case. That content can now have a value that the owner has a say in, rather than a third party. There are wrinkles to be ironed out and regulation will probably needed, but all in all NFTs behave like a certificate of ownership and will have a use throughout the supply chain.
