DEFINITION: When did your working relationship begin? Tell me about your first project together.
amazing from day one. I was impressed immediately with her; everyone was. TS: On that episode, I started to fangirl over Eva. The weird, the interesting and the awkward were both of our vibes. I felt we just got each other. EA: Yes, the fangirling was definitely mutual. DEF: Tell me about teaming up again on Margo’s Got Money Troubles. What were some challenges you faced on this set? TS: Interior Chinatown helped me go even more stylistic on Margo’s Got Money Troubles (2026). There was this whimsical energy that really caught me, so I decided the camera should move with her experiences and her emotions. I thought, “The more we can create and be in this world from her perspective, the more fun it will be.”
It goes on a ride with her – and I felt like knowing Eva was involved meant people were open to pushing things. We were up against a lot of challenges.
EVA ANDERSON: We met on the TV series Interior Chinatown
EA: We had real babies with limited hours, so that was a lot.
(2024). Taika Waititi directed the pilot episode, and he always brings his own department heads. His DOP was Mike Berlucchi, ASC, who I had already worked with on a show called You’re the Worst , and Mike’s wife was pregnant. One day he came to work and said, “Turns out I need another DOP.” So, we brought Tari on to support him. it before. Mike handed episode 2 to me, and it was exciting to jump in and go for it creatively. We were discovering the story together. EA: I had written episode 2, and to have Tari as my DOP – she was TARI SEGAL: I read the script and I hadn’t read anything like
Then, on the wrestling shoot, we had to condense seven hours of stunts into 90 minutes. Tari figured it out on the fly by moving the camera in really instinctive but clever ways.
TS: With the Vegas episode, we only had three days, and it was
challenging to pair it with what we were shooting in LA. The mother and daughter ran out of frame in the Hollywood Margaritaville and, one month later, we continued that shot in Vegas. EA: Another big part of Margo is that the character is an OnlyFans model, so there’s intimacy throughout. I thought, “Wouldn’t it be cool to have
