SAVOUR & S I P

Hero Eat TZATZIKI Run by friends Sukh and Nikos, Tzatziki was launched mid-lockdown as a takeaway-only service offering a range of Greek dishes. Word quickly spread about the duo’s Hellenic delights, and they are now enjoying a hugely successful residency at the kitchen of Mill Road’s Royal Standard pub, with plans for a second eatery on the horizon. As anyone who’s tried Tzatziki’s dishes will know, this ain’t your average greasy takeaway. One of the specialities is the souvlaki – made with overnight roasted pork and three different mustards, nestled in a chewy pitta – but the chunky Greek sausages, tangy spanakopita and honey-drizzled feta pies are also well worth your attention. Another menu must-try is the skepasti, a kind of Greek toastie, and for pud don’t miss the loukoumades: traditional Greek doughnut balls.

I know this great little place... Culinaris

Claiming to stock East Anglia’s widest range of cheeses, Culinaris is a must-visit for local gourmands. In addition to the seemingly endless burrata, bouyguette and balls of buffalo mozzarella, this charming Mill Road shop has a huge selection of chocolates, sweets, artisan drinks, freshly baked breads, condiments and a well-stocked charcuterie cabinet. As well as a great place to pick up a unique gift for your foodie friend, Culinaris knocks up some of the best sandwiches in town, too (which can also be ordered through Deliveroo).
