LANDSCAPE PHOTOGRAPHY Set Up for Success Try these settings for better landscapes

FUJIFILM X Series cameras have a wealth of settings that can make it easier to achieve better photos. If you are going to dip into some landscape work over the next few months, try out these features.
To use the grid guide on your X Series camera, press MENU/OK and head to SET UP > SCREEN SET-UP > FRAMING GUIDELINE, and choose between a grid of nine or 24 boxes. Also ensure that you navigate to SCREEN SET-UP > DISPLAY CUSTOM SETTINGS and then check the box for FRAMING GUIDELINE – otherwise the grid will not be displayed.

Electronic Level One of the cardinal rules for most landscape photography is to ensure that the horizon is perfectly level. If you want to create impeccably straight frames in-camera, switch on the electronic level setting by pressing MENU/OK and navigating to SET UP > SCREEN SET-UP > ELECTRONIC LEVEL SETTING. Select the 2D setting to display a white line over the EVF and LCD screen that shows you how far the camera is tilted to the left or right. When your composition is perfectly level, the line will change to green. Framing Guideline A grid overlay to help line up your composition is also useful when doing landscape photography.
