T here’s nothing like a deadline to spur many creatives into action, and the closing date to submit your entry to Pro Moviemaker ’s Filmmaker of the Year 2026 is looming! We need to see them by 22 May for you to be in with a chance of scooping up a major accolade. Lots of entries have already come in. They tell a clear story that contemporary filmmaking isn’t defined by red carpets or theatrical releases. It’s defined by the
social content and online ad campaigns – often with very limited resources, but limitless ingenuity. The awards are about recognising craft, problem-solving and skilled storytelling. The films entered so far range from stripped-back, personal projects to polished commercial work and music video production – all united by strong ideas and confident execution. Video dominates everything from global marketing to social feeds, and it is working filmmakers who carry that
work being created right now – under pressure, on tight schedules, for varied audiences and across every platform that matters. Increasingly, that’s online. From YouTube and Vimeo to social media platforms, this is where the vast majority of video is viewed. Back for their fourth year, the awards celebrate the filmmakers shaping today’s visual culture. We reward the creators making incredible marketing films, hard- hitting documentaries, wedding videos,
