WELCOME Thanks to a steady stream of exciting new openings, Cambridge’s foodie landscape has gone from depressing to dynamic in the space of a few short years. Our city is now home to a thriving street food scene, a number of exceptional fine dining restaurants, a cafe culture so evolved it’s nearing Antipodean levels of brilliance and an embarrassment of fantastic bakeries, craft breweries, gastropubs, delis, chocolatiers, curry houses and just about every other style of cuisine your taste buds could desire. Showcased each May at the marvellous Eat Cambridge festival, the city’s food scene is now truly something to be celebrated and savoured – which is exactly what we hope to do in this, the inaugural Eating Out in Cambridgeshire guide. Offering a guide to some of the area’s best places to eat, the publication serves as a whistle-stop tour of where to pick up tasty bites, from the luxe comfort food on offer at Parker’s Tavern to flame-cooked feasts at Brix & Mortar, via double Michelin-starred dining at Midsummer House: prepare for some serious foodie inspiration on the pages ahead...
