Dating back to the 1600s, the Red Lion in Soham is a quintessential English country pub, now reinvented as an innovative restaurant by Lucy Harper, formerly of The Old Fire Engine House in Ely. Lucy’s aim is to create a constantly changing menu dominated by classic English and Mediterranean dishes, presented with a modern, rustic twist. The Red Lion boasts an extensive list of predominantly French wines, but also featuring some new world wines. If you are planning a special event, the Coach House is the perfect venue for a wedding reception, banquet or party.

Experience all-day dining with superb riverside views at the Riverside Brasserie, located at Cambridge Hotel. On the outdoor terrace, watch the punts glide past on the River Cam. The menu features dishes like potted duck with green peppercorns, crispy calamari with tartare sauce, honey- roasted pork rib with apple sauce or classic chicken kiev. For Sunday lunch, savour freshly roasted meats from the carvery. Or enjoy afternoon tea, with a selection of sandwiches, scones and miniature desserts, in the restaurant, Twist Bar or outside. Open daily from 12.30pm to 9pm.
