and Indonesia. The decision reflects the investment taking place across the region, particularly in Malaysia and the strong links between Kuala Lumpur and Singapore. “It certainly seems all the strategic work and the research that the team did when we started to think about looking at other locations really positions it at quite a nexus of growth,” Joyce continues. The move also illustrates AVIXA’s willingness to reassess how and where it operates. “We’re always looking at: is that the optimum?” Joyce explains, underlining the importance of responding to changing markets rather than assuming established formats must remain unchanged. As the industry looks towards ISE 2027 in Barcelona, the same themes of convergence, education and end-user experience will remain central to the wider AV conversation. For AVIXA, the priority is to keep listening to individual markets and adapt accordingly. Joyce concludes by posing three questions that will shape the next steps: “How are we being agile? How are the shows agile? How are they responsive to and anticipating their respective market needs?”
demonstrating complete control rooms and smart office environments. “More and more end users want to come with the question of ‘what can I do?’, not so much the components to make it happen.” This creates an opportunity for trade shows to help businesses think beyond their immediate requirements. “How do we create the experiences on the show floors and through the content that enables people to think three and five years ahead? They’re not just asking, ‘here’s my projects in this calendar year, what’s coming that I need to anticipate?’” Education is another important part of that equation. InfoComm India introduced Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) training and testing, building on an established appetite for professional development. “There’s a big thirst for knowledge here, a big thirst for education, for training,” Joyce comments. India is already one of AVIXA’s largest markets for CTS holders, underlining the potential to develop skills alongside the wider industry. She also sees an opportunity to strengthen the connection between professional AV and broadcast. The two sectors have converged significantly since the pandemic,
as organisations have sought to bring broadcast-quality production into corporate and government environments. “Within an enterprise or government environment, the broadcast studio is no longer a separate solution within an integrated AV space.”

ADAPTING STRATEGIES India’s expansion is central to AVIXA’s
plans, but growth does not necessarily mean replicating the exact same exhibition model everywhere. Mumbai, the current host city, remains an important platform for reaching the corporate market, while Joyce sees the potential of exploring opportunities in Delhi. “If we’re looking at it from an India-wide perspective, then New Delhi is the seat of government,” she says. Such an initiative could take a different form from a conventional trade show, bringing the right stakeholders together around investment, infrastructure and national technology priorities. Elsewhere in Asia, AVIXA is adapting to a different set of opportunities. InfoComm Asia is moving to Kuala Lumpur in July 2027, positioning the event to connect markets including Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam
