A-SERIES CAPSULES FOR SENNHEISER Neumann has unveiled the KK 104 A

SOUNDING OUT 12,000 YEARS OF HISTORY Visitors to the Timewalk Immersive Experience Museum spend an exhilarating hour walking through 12,000 years of human history. The exhibition opens on the ritual gathering grounds of Göbeklitepe, then moves through the Hanging Gardens of Babylon, temples of ancient Egypt, observatories of the Maya and Moai of the Rapa Nui, five worlds in sequence, each a projection-mapped room of its own. The L-ISA Immersive Hyperreal sound is integral to bringing the audience into the experience, but it stays invisible to the eye. Timewalk opened in July at Immerse LDN, the UK’s largest dedicated immersive entertainment district, on the Excel London waterfront at Royal Victoria Dock. It occupies more than 1600 square metres and marks the UK debut of DEM Museums, the Turkish producer behind the Hagia Sophia History and Experience Museum and the Ephesus Experience Museum. In total, Timewalk runs 114 loudspeakers and 11 subwoofers across five discrete zones, driven by 15 amplified controllers including LA7.16i, LA4X and LA2Xi, all running on Milan-AVB. The final mix is built in the L-ISA Processor, printed and handed to the media servers, which send the files over the network, straight to the amplified controllers.

5 SECONDS OF SHURE AXIENT Mike Platt, 5 Seconds of Summer’s monitor engineer, has spent the band’s latest world tour putting the Shure Axient Digital PSM Advanced In-Ear Monitor System through its paces across some of the most demanding RF environments on the touring circuit.

operating mode has, in his words, changed the way digital transmission performs. The system now handles 16 stereo mixes for a band and crew who move constantly between A- and B-stages, bunkers and back- and under-stage positions, many with challenging sightlines and RF conditions. Alongside Axient Digital PSM, 12 channels of Shure Axient Digital AD2 microphones cover the band’s multiple vocal positions, with Wireless Workbench providing full RF visibility from front of house. The systems were supplied by UK-based audio production company Adlib, with the North American leg of the tour supported out of Adlib’s US operation.

From packed arenas across the UK, Europe and the US to festival main stages, including Lollapalooza in Chicago, the system has been tested in a wide range of real-world conditions. As one of Axient Digital PSM’s earliest adopters, Platt has worked closely with Shure throughout the run, and a recent firmware update that introduces a new single-carrier narrowband
