Three minutes with Cambridge Film Festival submissions, events and outreach coordinator and Youth Lab lead Hannah Hitchin How long have you been involved with the Cambridge Film Festival? For a long time – I started off as a volunteer in 2013 and have worked in many different roles since then! Film submissions that caught your eye this year: I was lucky enough to watch a fantastic selection of local films this year; some great work is being created around Cambridgeshire. I have programmed our free Family Film Festival and I am really excited to be showing The Secret Garden (1993). It was a big favourite of mine as a child. What makes you proud to be part of Youth Lab? It’s a privilege to see a great bunch of young people getting to take part in educational activities, work together and fulfil their potential. Many of our alumni have moved on to careers in the film industry. The showing that you’re most excited for audiences to see: Favourite genre: I am happy to give most things a whirl, although I do love a musical or a 90s teen film. (Not sure I’m winning any cool points here!) Try as you might, you just can’t get into: I am not usually a huge fan of science fiction, but there are exceptions: Blade Runner and the recent Dune films. Movie music that always puts a smile on your face: Everything from The Sound of Music . (Cool has officially left the building.) Film you keep rewatching: I am partial to The Rocky Horror Picture Show , it never gets boring.

Most memorable movie moment: The end of Bicycle Thieves stayed with me for a very long time.
