FORZA WITH SIX APPEAL Many daylight or bicolour LED lamps are on the market, but plenty of manufacturers offer RGB and RGBWW lights, too. Not only do these feature adjustable colour temperature and tint to produce white light, but can also output any colour you like via a mix of red, green and blue – you don’t need gels any more. Effects like paparazzi flashes, flickering fires, police cars, disco or welding flashes can be found in the menus or via an app. RGBLAC lights are the newest addition, with lime, amber and cyan added for six colours in total. By integrating LED beads of lime, amber and cyan into an RGB source, it solves the issue of an incomplete colour spectrum, producing a near-daylight output. The RGBLAC system strengthens colours other than the usual red, green and blue to offer a wider colour gamut, more accurate colour reproduction and subtle quality. The £677/$699 Nanlite Forza 60C is one of the most affordable of this latest style of monolights – and shockingly compact. With a maximum total power rating of 88W, it might seem expensive compared to similarly powered COB lights, but this reflects the technical difficulties of building such complex technology. The biggest issue is to avoid uneven illumination. Each tiny LED bead is carefully calibrated to ensure the light has a 60W power draw for all colours, so they are even across the output beam. This latest Nanlite takes control to the next level, with its highly accurate colours – an average CRI of 96 and TLCI of 95, plus TM-30 Rf and Rg of 95 and 100, respectively. Its CCT range is an incredible 1800- 20,000K, meaning you can make it super-warm like candlelight or very
