LOVE LOCAL
Born and bred in Cambridge, local graphic designer Chris Gooch is one of the city’s most passionate fans!
I’ve lived in Cambridge all my life – 49 years. I first lived in Barnwell, until I was ten; then moved to Cherry Hinton and started ‘big school’ at Netherhall in the same summer. At 24, I moved to Histon having met my wife there, and we’ve lived here ever since. Even though it’s been 25 years, I still feel like a bit of a newbie! I love it here because there’s so much to be proud of. From our educational heritage to the brightest minds and companies in science and technology succeeding here, to tourists from around the world wanting to visit us – we have so much to say and offer as a vibrant, world-class city. represents Cambridge perfectly. Having stayed there a couple of times now, we couldn’t fault the high-quality rooms, excellent service and amazing food. The unique, detailed Cambridge-themed decor is also fantastic to experience. It’s reassuring to know global visitors staying there are receiving a wonderful welcome and a really accurate flavour of Cambridge. One thing I’ve never done here, but plan to, is visit the Botanic Garden with my family. While I’ve lived here all my life, I’m ashamed to say I’ve never been there with them, but we intend to visit very soon!
