Making meaning Though still getting its feet off the ground, Reframe House has an array of projects with various organisations. “We did one called Humans of the Forgotten War . This has to do with people who are currently behind bars during the war in Cameroon and how they’re made to feel, because a lot of them are in, without trial, for indefinite periods of time,” describes Iannacone. She worked with Cameroonian refugees to translate the prisoners’ statements. What started as ‘simple art’ became an international campaign. “It got picked up by BBC Africa and by Newsweek ,” Iannacone shares, who believes there is a “huge craving for alternate ways of telling stories by large media outlets.” Reframe House has also had collaborations with Restorative Justice for All, an organisation that works to support migrant integration across Europe, and the Nelson Mandela Children’s Hospital in South Africa, “where children with chronic illnesses can express where their imagination goes when they’re stuck in hospital,” details Iannacone. “They’re very social projects, which are orientated around human rights.” Positive reinforcement Iannacone will serve as one of four judges for Stories in Motion, a filmmaking competition targeted at young people and a co-creation between Canon and CVP. Now in its second year, the contest accepts music videos, documentaries and scripted short submissions between one and five minutes in length, with finalists receiving a CVP voucher and the Grand Prize Winner claiming a Canon EOS C70 kit. Having judged the competition in 2023, Iannacone was eager to do so again. “It was nice to see what ideas are coming out,” she reveals. “There are hundreds of submissions, and panellists watch them all.” Beside her this year are CVP’s Jake Ratcliffe and filmmakers Ollie Kenchington and Tania Freimuth. “It’s great to nurture young talents. This career isn’t one where you get a lot of pats on the back,” Iannacone explains. “It’s important that people get good feedback so that they understand the steps that can help, based on our
