THE TREND EDIT While the Angela Reed range takes

inspiration from the past and Christmases gone by, John Lewis looks to the art world with its seven key looks for Christmas 2020. The Art Nouveau range embraces rich colours, metallic accents and luxe materials (tiny gin decanter baubles, peacock feathers and striking animal print accessories), while the Post-Impressionism range offers up a bright, tropical palette, exotic birds and bold mosaics. We love the oversized leopard figurines and hummingbird tree decorations. Other themes include the Instagram- friendly Pop Art collection, with neon stars, tinsel garlands and retro baubles; and Bloomsbury – taking its inspiration from the Bloomsbury Group of writers and artists, which has a more traditional, illustrative feel. For Celine, there are three key trends for styling your home this Christmas, the first being a classic red, gold and green combination – something many of us might gravitate towards for comfort and familiarity after such a trying year. “We all have the need for the traditions

of the past,” she explains. “Get a big tree and adorn it with lots of precious family ornaments and lights and hang stockings on the mantel.” If you’re dreaming of a white Christmas, you’ll appreciate Celine’s second hot look for Christmas 2020: a snowy palette with minimalistic design. “Faux snow, a white faux fur rug next to the fire, and classic glass ornaments are always a great choice when it comes to adding magic to your Christmas decorations,” she explains. “Bring the snowy look from your Christmas tree into the dining room with crystal glasses, white and gold ribbons and faux fur accessories on the dining chairs to add texture. White candles and a centrepiece composed of birch and evergreen branches will complete the look.” Finally, says Celine, pastels are big news for this year’s Christmas: think blush tones, pinks, warm neutrals and metallics of the rose gold and gold variety. Get the look with blush tablecloths, mint green chinaware, golden candle holders and ethereal angel ornaments. Calming, yet luxurious.
