INFILED BRINGS INTERACTIVE LEDS TO WORLD’S TALLEST HOTEL Ciel Dubai Marina is the world’s tallest hotel, rising 377m above the waterfront. The 82-storey building holds 857 rooms and 147 suites, and the main lobby just got a major makeover. Delivered by Huda Lighting, the hotel’s installation features interactive INFiLED LED screens that fit seamlessly with the room’s curved architecture. The LED wall responds dynamically as people approach and supports touch-based interaction, providing visitors with an immersive experience as soon as they enter. The installation combines INFiLED’s flat WP Series and curved WP Wrap Series panels, the latter providing a 120° arc and sitting flush against the wall to create a unified screen surface. The entire display – with the WP Series included – operates at a 1.25mm pixel pitch and 800 nits of brightness. While the LED screen primarily responds to movement, it also adapts for event use – like when Jason Momoa visited the hotel to promote his Meili Vodka brand. While the installation is at the heart of the arrival experience, it also falls within the hotel’s broader commitment to flexibility and hospitality.
ORLANDO SCIENCE CENTER UNVEILS THE DOME
evolution for the Science Center, the installation supports flexibility, allowing the theatre to showcase a wide range of content – in a wide range of formats – to educate and engage all visitors. The space itself seats more than 300 guests and serves as a multi- purpose immersive venue instead of a more traditional planetarium. The Science Center created brand-new content for The Dome, making the most of the renovation and the capabilities it has introduced, which include astronomy visualisations and much more.
The Orlando Science Center renovated its eight-storey dome theatre, called The Dome, with a Christie RGB pure laser projection system. The former IMAX venue now supports 8K visual content for the centre’s educational programming, planetarium experience, special events and presentations. Replacing an ageing system, The Dome now has eight Christie Griffyn 4K35-RGB projectors, configured in a full-dome projection system, as well as an inset Christie CP4435- RGB pure laser cinema projector for 3D movies. with reinforced, uniform coverage throughout. Roig Arena has vetted the new system already, hosting two high-profile events – including a Rod Stewart concert. The installation’s permanence reduces set-up times and helps streamline operations, while its low energy consumption delivers maximum performance with minimal environmental impact.
Valencia’s Roig Arena, with a 20,000-person max capacity for concerts and 15,000 for sporting events, selected d&b audiotechnik as its operational audio partner, equipping the venue with a new permanent sound system – hopefully attracting increasingly ambitious productions.
