King’s Ely K ing’s Ely parents, Mr and Mrs Warren, provide their perspective on their son’s experience at the school. Our son, James, joined King’s
and making many friends. The staff are so supportive, both academically and pastorally, and it was an easy decision for James to stay at King’s for Sixth Form. James was diagnosed with dyslexia after his GCSEs and the school was outstanding in its one- to-one support for him during his A-levels. One of the benefits of a King’s education for James was the confidence it gave him. The school places such a strong emphasis on its values and there are so many opportunities to develop skills beyond the curriculum. James loved the House system at King’s, getting involved in many fun activities over the years, and enjoying the rivalry with the other Houses! As a House Prefect, as well as a School Prefect, he was given the opportunity to build his confidence and further demonstrate his leadership skills. We would not hesitate to fulsomely recommend King’s to anyone – and often do!
Ely Senior in year 9, and it was the best decision that we could have made for him. James attended a prep school in Cambridge until year 8, and we considered a range of senior schools for him. King’s stood out to us for being so well rounded, with such a welcoming, family and community feel. Our biggest concern about James starting at King’s was the train to school, but we need not have worried! James loved the independence of catching the train to and from Cambridge with his friends every day. James was so happy throughout his time at the school, throwing himself into a wide variety of opportunities
