NEW AND IMPROVED The final result was a flawlessly crafted modern kitchen, from conception to installation
I t is widely believed that the kitchen is the most important room in the house. So, when Henry Rose Interiors was approached by clients whose recently purchased first home had a lacklustre kitchen, the family-run business knew it could intervene with a bespoke solution. The clients found their original kitchen felt closed in and dark, and wanted to make use of the natural light coming in from the bifold doors leading to the lounge. To overcome this, they pulled down the internal walls separating the kitchen from the open plan dining/lounge area. With a brief in mind, a plan was made to accommodate the clients’ wish list, which included a venting hob, wine fridge, glass cabinet and breakfast bar. Despite facing limitations on space due to the door leading to the hallway,
Henry Rose made the most of the room by installing 1.5-metre-deep cabinets against the walls to create the kitchen island. A waterfall end to the island was a must-have request as an elegant answer to hiding unsightly appliances. In addition, a recirculatory Bora hob was installed on the breakfast bar with a drawer to the side. To keep the sleek lines on the window wall and make use of a smart storage solution, internal drawers were also placed inside a base unit. Even with a clear vision, differences arose in the colour scheme. Because of this, Henry Rose explored various palettes, ranging from kashmir to black. Eventually, the team settled on a stylish clay dark colour with a lighter worktop. Slimline lighting was strategically placed under cabinets and alongside glass shelves to
enhance the space’s evening ambience, without compromising task lighting even when it isn’t required. Thanks to a strict adherence to budget, the clients were able not only to install the waterfall end to the kitchen island, but also add a convenient splashback panel stretching to underneath the cabinets. The final result? A beautifully executed contemporary kitchen solution, which was designed, supplied and installed for a total cost of £21,765.41. Such a transformation created priceless satisfaction for the clients in their new home.
