Three Cambridge establishments have been included in the Top 100 UK Restaurants by Harden’s. Now in its 33rd edition, the guide follows a survey-based approach which compiles a host of ratings and reviews from 2,500 diners. While each city has its own listing, several Cambridge hotspots are considered amongst the nation’s finest. They were selected from the 2,800 restaurants originally considered. The two-Michelin starred Midsummer House ranks in ninth position, followed by Restaurant Twenty- Two, which ranked 23rd after gaining its first Michelin star earlier this year. Mill Road’s Vanderlyle, run by Alex Rushmer (pictured) placed at 73 thanks to its innovative plant- based tasting menus and use of local, seasonal produce. Cambridge’s Fine Dining Favourites
THE RETURN OF THE LITTLE PANTRY
Long-awaited good news is finally on the horizon as Haslingfield’s much-loved deli and specialty shop will soon be making its return. Specialising in honest, home-cooked tasty treats from baguettes to cakes and beyond, this neighbourhood gem has been greatly missed by residents and patrons alike following its closure in June 2023. “The vision of the new shop is to provide the local community with quality coffee, comforting homemade treats and lunches, as well as a selection of the choicest cheeses, cold meats and fresh deli items,” says Christie Minj from The Little Pantry. “As well as catering to the close-knit local population, the establishment will continue to serve surrounding businesses, walkers, cyclists and motorists.” With its re-opening scheduled for January 2024, keep your eyes peeled for the latest developments by visiting thelittlepantry.co.uk
