The event was founded in 2014 by Henry Fitzroy, aka Harry Grafton, who owns Euston Hall and used to run the Rolling Stones merchandising operation. A massive fan of American roots music,

he previously lived in Nashville when he ran a radio station, but returned to run the family estate on the death of his father. He still makes the journey back to the US every year to source new bands in Mississippi, Nashville and New Orleans for the festival.
