Cambridge Aesthetics & Wellbeing Lounge at Ben’s Yard in Ely offers a wide range of treatments that address some of the physical challenges women experience in later life. “We want to get women to talk more openly about the symptoms of menopause,” says founder Abby Barhoumi. “We offer a safe space where women can talk to a menopause coach with utmost sensitivity and discretion, about the many treatments we offer.” Menopause coach Kirsten Marriott is collaborating with Cambridge Aesthetics this month, with a free Menopause Walk and Talk on 21 October, then every third Monday of the month. Kirsten is a wellbeing professional who supports women in midlife who want to make meaningful, sustainable lifestyle changes to feel more in control of the changes happening in their mind and body. By stimulating the muscles through the skin (cutaneous muscle stimulation), the body’s touch, pressure, heat, vibration and pain receptors are activated, sending these signals to the autonomic and central nervous systems. This triggers neurochemical reactions that promote relaxation and sleep, positively impacting depression and anxiety. More intimate rejuvenation therapies are also offered to women experiencing a more challenging menopause, addressing bladder weakness, stress incontinence, sexual dysfunction, dryness and muscle atrophy.
