W hether you’re lounging in the garden, dreaming of your next escape or trying to recapture the magic of a recent getaway, summer is the perfect time to bring a decorative dose of the Mediterranean to your home. Harnessing signature ingredients such as sun-baked terracotta tones, breezy, laid-back styling, warm stone, chalky whites, rustic ceramics, patterned tiles and natural textures such as linen, rattan and timber, there are myriad ways to introduce the characteristic comfort and effortless charm of southern Europe throughout the house. “Mediterranean style is about warmth, texture and a feeling of relaxed, easy living,” enthuses Louisa Swannell, head of creative design at Walls and Floors.
