SAVOUR & SIP
The Royal Oak A fresh start Continuing its culinary dominion in the county, Cambscuisine is now giving The Royal Oak in Barrington a new lease of life. The Grade II listed building was established in the Middle Ages and has been an alehouse staple ever since, outliving the six other public houses once situated in the village during the Victorian age. With idyllic views over the green, it has long been a hotspot for grabbing a drink with a delectable meal while people-spotting. Cambscuisine already has The Cock at Hemingford, The Tickell Arms in Whittlesford and The Cambridge Chop House on its roster of pub restaurants, with each venue serving up its own unparalleled dishes – from pies perfect with a pint, to Middle Eastern flavours. Now the team is raring to put its luxurious spin on The Royal Oak. “It’s a real triumph for the Cambscuisine group to add this stunning village pub to our collection,” says Oliver Thain, owner of Cambscuisine. “We have big plans for the place. Diners and drinkers alike can look forward to the cheery service and great food you’ve come to expect from all our venues. See you on the green!”
