THE CAMBRIDGE BOOK BENCH TRAIL From 8 July, you may see some colourful, life-size benches popping up across the city, all individually designed by British artists. Find them dotted around the city’s historic heart, as well as shopping centres, the train station, parks and open spaces. Market Square cinema continues this month, offering free alfresco screenings of Space Jam: A New Legacy (6pm) and Back to the Future (8pm) on 22 July. Screenings are free to attend, and seating is provided.

COMMONWEALTH GAMES Featuring 11 days of swimming and diving, eight days of cricket, eight days of gymnastics and seven days of athletics, the Commonwealth Games – this year taking place in Birmingham – is set to dazzle with an action-packed schedule of sporting magic. Come and cheer along your favourites at the big screen, which is heading back to Station Road (next to the Clayton Hotel) to show coverage of the Games. Times vary, so keep an eye on the Love Cambridge social channels for the day’s agenda.
