ince the concept of hygge – a cosy quality that’s key to contentment, a pillar of the Danish way of life – arrived on
British shores and swept the country, its snug aesthetics have suffused many aspects of our lives, making us yearn for interiors which feel as homely as a hug. This year is no different, Felicity says: “A neutral colour palette of white, creams, browns and champagne gold is a sophisticated style that I’ve seen for the past few years – and looks to continue to be popular.” Introduce muted hues of icy blues, subtle greens and gentle oranges for a calming serenity. With a two-tone look, pairing pale with slightly darker shades of the same colour, it’s difficult to go wrong. “I like to create vignettes around the house rather than go for an all-out decorating approach. Typically, I keep to a muted colour palette with a few core colours like green, white and gold, but adding lots of texture to create a warm, inviting feel,” explains Felicity. If you’re looking to foster more of a ski resort feel, with kitsch colours and

dinky details, make sure to scroll on Etsy for decoration inspiration. While ribbons, embroidered napkins and even a stack of logs to place near the fire add a dose of much-needed festive delight – rejoice!
