BE JOLLY
BOLD, BRIGHT AND UNABASHED SHADES ARE ALL THE RAGE THIS SEASON – ADD DISCO BALLS, NEON AND A SPRINKLE OF SPARKLE TO MAKE YOUR INTERIORS MERRY
“It can be easy to go overboard, but if you want to go for a full rainbow colour palette, look for decorations in the same tone – don’t mix pastels with bold, saturated jewel,” says Felicity. “I would also recommend investing in a few core decorations in a range of hues – rather than a large variety, if you’re going for lots of colour.” The main thing to keep in mind is that this trend is about playfulness and imagination, combining pops of colour, eclectic details and plenty of glitter and shimmer, for a winter wonderland which will have the whole family enchanted.
ingy lemons, hot pinks and vibrant greens are in this winter, dazzling the senses and injecting crucial Christmas cheer into the home.
This brave new trend is a surefire way to beat the blues and dispel any midwinter bleakness – by marrying clashing colours, disco decor and many-hued wreaths for your fix of festive fun. “The rule is: there’s no rule when decorating,” says interiors expert Katie Malik. “Go for what brings you happiness. Though it can be easily overdone; if you go for one focal piece per room, this should help you achieve an overall balance.”
