ADVERT I SEMENT F EATURE

Never is there a better time to experience the delights that Cambridge has to offer than at Christmas. The twinkling lights, carol singers and Christmas cheer make it an enjoyable experience for all. Cambridge has a fantastic array of independent shops, boutiques, restaurants and cafes, which at Christmas time dress their windows to give shoppers an extra little treat while they are out choosing gifts for loved ones. Each year, Cambridge BID encourages independent retailers to join in the Christmas Window Competition, this year in partnership with Cambridge Independent, with judges marking entrants on originality/ creativity, visual impact and festiveness. The judges decided on a shortlist of eight businesses, which were put to a public vote over on the Love Cambridge Facebook during December. CAMBRIDGE BID INDEPENDENT WINDOW COMPETITION

2019 WINNER! This year’s winner is Podarok, an independent gift boutique in the heart of Cambridge’s Arts Quarter, Bene’t Street. It dressed its window with fabulous drawings of poinsettia plants and greenery and used products from the shop to showcase the wonderful choice available. The boutique decided to donate its winnings to the charity Something To Look Forward To, an organisation that does wonderful things for those who are affected by a cancer diagnosis.
