The standard springs provide a substantial reduction in abrupt stops and help smooth out movement ends. Adjustable hydraulic shocks can be installed to increase the setting range, and drag adjustment and a complete lock-off is possible. The Vibration Isolator accepts both bowl and Mitchell camera heads in various options such as Mitchell, 100mm Bowl, 150mm Bowl, plus optional height adjusters (risers). Weight for the isolator is only 9kg, which is about 20lbs (this is for the basic version of the product). The isolator has an impressive payload of up to 85kg, which is around 189lbs. The accepted temperature range is from -20° to 50°C, which is -4° to +122°F (with hydraulic shocks). Dimensions (lxwxh) are 33 x 40 x 14.5cm, which is 13 x 16 x 6in. The GFM isolator supports bowl and Mitchell camera heads; it has an interchangeable Euro-adapter and Mitchell base mounts. Verdict The Hybris headline technology is the use of magnets to control the braking. IDEA VISION’S HYBRIS IS CUSTOM designed to reduce high and low frequency vibrations and hard-impact shocks, typically experienced when shooting from moving platforms on rough terrain or paved roads. The front mount can be set for under- or overslung use of any camera, gimbal or stabilised head. A finely balanced and adjustable linear eddy current brake and spring system gives you a stable platform from which to shoot. The fact that it operates without contact means it is wear-free and unaffected by wheather conditions. It can be applied with great precision, and the damping performance is controlled via Hybris’s own app. The Hybris shock absorber has been designed to work with gimbals, stabilised heads and cameras, with weight range between one and 40kg, which is around two to 88lbs. Mounting the Hybris shock absorber is as simple as clamping it on to a standard speed rail. You build a rig onto your vehicle, using standard grip components such as speed rail and clamps, then you simply clamp your Hybris on there with two or four single clamps at the back of the shock absorber. The Agito robot vehicle is split into three parts, the centre core section and two drive ends – this makes up your robotic dolly system. You then add on your camera mounting, which can be a different way of stabilising and moving the camera, and you can then begin adding a variety of camera heads. Modularity is a key component as Agito has been designed to work in many different scenarios, including stadiums, in the middle of fields, film sets, wildlife and much more. In fact, at IBC, Motion Impossible showed this by having two distinct models of Agito: Sports and Trax. Motion Impossible has also designed a way of changing their ends to suit the shoot. Most people have seen Agito with its off-road wheels but now they have options. You can easily change the wheels for track wheels so you are able to go on to standard track. But they haven’t stopped there – you can also choose a ‘narrow track’ end and that will go on to track ranging from 300 to 400mm, so is the same as Junior track and Furio track. Agito
