the centre manager Daniel Hehir. “This not only enriches the pupil experience but also strengthens community ties by providing recreational opportunities for local residents.” Setting the standard As part of The Perse’s commitment to the environment, the school has taken every step to ensure the building is as sustainable as possible. “We’re working towards a BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method) ‘excellent’ accreditation, and this includes ensuring the building is extremely efficient in its use of water,” shares Daniel. For example, the new swimming pool comes equipped with state-of-the- art micro-filtration technology, which keeps the water safer and cleaner than conventional ways of filtering and cleaning. This advanced system uses up to 40% less power and up to 40% less water, resulting
