MUSICAL MOMENTS

Stamford Strings, founded by violinist and luthier Libby Summers in 2019, offers top- quality instruments and set-ups. Showcasing both new and antique violins for sale, all instruments are made or selected for sound, playability and craftsmanship, being rigorously tested by professional players. It also offers restoration, repair, conservation, appraisal and insurance certificate services. Bow repairs and re-hairs are personally handled by Libby. This month, Stamford Strings is delighted to announce its relocation to St Martin’s Street. The new setting provides separate spaces for workshop activities, a retail showroom and a dedicated area for trying out instruments. @stamfordstrings | stamfordstrings.co.uk Stamford Strings

BREWING UP A STORM

Bean Theory

Since opening in May 2023, Bean Theory has quickly established itself as a favourite coffee spot in Cambridge. Overlooking the Mill Pond and within walking distance of Lammas Land and the Backs, Bean Theory celebrates third-wave coffee with its speciality, in-house roasted blends. This summer, it reached a new milestone by opening a second location at Waresley Park Estate. Located in the estate’s stables and adjacent to the Roastery, the new venue offers a spacious indoor seating area along with a courtyard area, perfect for alfresco coffee stops. “With both Bean Theory sites, we aim to create community hubs where everyone feels welcome,” says Bean Theory founder Ben Griggs. @beantheorycambridge | beantheory.co.uk
