VIVA LAS VEGAS Definition brings you an inside look at what’s in store for NAB Show Las Vegas 2026, highlighting the top tech and talks to check out I t’s nearly that time of year again

One of the most widely anticipated events to mark down in your calendar is Team Deakins: In Discussion. Roger and James Deakins will take to the stage to share insights from their careers and discuss their latest book, Reflections: On Cinematography . In the Central Hall, you can feast your eyes on the latest launches from Atlas Lens Co, Blazar Lens and Irix Lens, as well as lighting companies Aladdin Lights, Astera, Kino Flo Lighting Systems, NANLITE/NANLUX and Aputure, which will be showcasing its new NOVA lights and updates to the Sidus Link Pro. Aputure will also be hosting gatherings for industry groups and communities, as well as making a few announcements. On the camera front, Canon, Fujifilm, Panasonic, RED, Sony and many more will be attending, so make sure to stop by to check out the latest gear on offer. Keep an eye out for Adorama Presents: Interview Angles and Lighting with Julien Jarry, where he’ll talk through his process, featuring a selection of Sony cameras and lenses. Another stand to keep an eye out for is Atomos, which will be showcasing

its next-generation CFexpress-based monitor-recorders, including the recently announced five-inch Ninja RAW and 19- inch rack-mount Shogun AV-19. The company has hinted the line-up may expand further with the announcement of a stunning 4K Sumo on-set monitor- recorder, further strengthening its production range. Alongside hardware, Atomos will demonstrate new updates to its ATOMOSphere cloud ecosystem. Over in the West Hall, DOP Roberto Schaefer, ASC, AIC will speak about the evolution of his craft, from traditional filmmaking techniques to the integration of cutting-edge tools. Definitely one not to miss. There are plenty of other cinematography and production events throughout the show, such as sessions on Streamline Editing and its Tools in DaVinci Resolve: Work Faster and Smarter in DaVinci Resolve, plus Mastering Cinematography on an LED Volume, both in the North Hall. Horror fans will be able to indulge themselves in a session on The Scary- Smart Business of Horror, which features YouTube creator Mark Fischbach, aka Markiplier, Atomic Monster president Michael Clear and screenwriter Akela Cooper (of M3GAN and Malignant ) at the Media and Entertainment Theatre. AI, cloud workflows and recently emerging production technologies are set to take centre stage at the show. New for 2026 is a second AI Pavilion to the show floor. AI has been a prevalent theme across the last few years, but this demonstrates how it has moved from experimentation into widespread, practical use across the entire media workflow. The 2026 show will also feature an expanded, four-day Sports Summit: The Future of Sports Rights and Fan Engagement. See you in Vegas?

where M&E pros gather for a series of talks, events and industry updates at NAB Show, which returns to the Las Vegas Convention Center, 18-22 April. Last year’s show highlighted the rapid integration of AI, cloud workflows and IP- based production across 1100+ exhibitors and 54,000+ attendees, with 152 different countries represented. Significant trends included AI-driven content creation, advanced IP/5G live production and remote cloud collaboration, with major launches from Sony, Blackmagic Design and Avid. On the Central Hall show floor, CineCentral is a must-see for cinema enthusiasts and will feature live demos, expert-led training and immersive, hands-on learning experiences for DOPs, directors, camera operators and content creators.
