the scenes, there are often opportunities to learn technical skills such as lighting, sound, costume and set design. From plays to musicals, whole-school shows to assemblies, the performing arts aren’t just a nice add-on, but a necessity – not least in the way they encourage pupils to think differently about their classmates. They foster a realisation that everyone has something to contribute, and prioritise being supportive and generous.
