RUNNING UP THAT HILL
Dejero recently equipped Czech production company Livecast with Engo mobile video transmitters, a Gateway network-aggregation device and a Waypoint receiver for live coverage of the 2024 Prague Marathon for Czech Television. Livecast used Dejero’s solutions to transmit live camera feeds from a helicopter, motorbike and car along the marathon route to Czech TV’s CT1 and the event organiser’s YouTube channel. Dejero Engo units, each with six
SIM cards, combined signals from multiple cellular networks to deliver reliable connectivity amid network congestion caused by over 15,000 people at the start/finish line. Since 2015, Livecast has provided production services for Prague’s half and full marathons. “In the years prior, we were using RF transmitters, which are far more complicated,” said Honza Strohner, CEO of Livecast. “Combining LTE networks using Dejero makes the transmission more cost-effective.”
SWISS SPORTING SPECTACLE A traditional yet unconventional martial art, Schwingen (or ‘trouser wrestling’) is one of Switzerland’s strangest sports, celebrated annually at the NWS Championship. With thousands of spectators, the open-air venue demanded exceptional sound coverage. In 2024, this included an audio system with 16 Wharfedale Pro line array loudspeakers and two amplifiers, for the best possible audio.
