Murphy sounds out Martin Audio M

iddle Tennessee State University’s Murphy Center has a new audio backbone thanks to a Martin Audio Wavefront Precision system installed by Nashville’s Spectrum Sound Inc. After years of patchwork fixes, the old PA was finally replaced with a flexible, high-performance solution capable of delivering clear speech and full-range music across the 11,520-seat arena. “A major factor in choosing Martin Audio was its optimisation

technology,” said operations manager Zach Mitchell. “We

worked closely with Martin Audio product support engineer Joe Lima throughout, taking his concept and making sure it was properly implemented, while keeping the client’s goals front and centre.” The new system has six WPS arrays in the round, supplemented by Flex Point FP15 court fills, CDD12 delays and a 360° subwoofer array conceived by Lima. “This is probably the most consistent and

coherent subwoofer system I’ve ever experienced,” he commented, noting that the innovative cardioid configuration gives ±2dB variance across the entire seating area.
