X FACTOR From long lenses ideal for wildlife, to wide zooms perfect for vlogs, X Mounts are affordable and compact

Although many stick with manual focus, AF speed and accuracy is amazing. AI, deep-learning algorithms and subject detection combine to wonderful effect. It’s perfect for tracking faces, along with specific settings for cars, motorcycles, animals, birds, trains and planes. If you are interested in shooting stills, X-H2S delivers up to 40fps. Optional are two battery handgrips and a cooling fan, with a massive choice of compact X Mount lenses – X-H2S is what content creators dream of. Now it’s here and offers such great value, you owe it to yourself to get hold of one.

and even Bleach Bypass for more grit. A cinematic Eterna look produces soft colours and rich shadows. Tactile build In terms of handling, the latest Fujifilm is made for professionals, with a rugged, weather-sealed body. Controls just make sense. On the left of the top-plate is a locking dial that lets you set PASM modes for stills, plus quick access to filters, seven custom settings and video. The rear has a touchpad, thumb-operated joystick and ‘Q’ menu for access to most-used settings. The interface is simple, and although menus are deep enough to offer plenty of options, they aren’t too complicated. Controls include peaking and adjustable zebras, tally lights front and rear and an

on-screen histogram. Activate the built-in image stabilisation through the menu, either in-camera or combined with optical image stabilisation in a suitable X Mount lens.

An IS boost setting is about as close to a handheld gimbal as you can get. Its LCD screen rotates out to the side and swivels up and down, ideal for vlogging or shooting at a high or low angle. Use this touchscreen for very smooth focus pulls.

ONE FOR THE FANS A cooling fan to stop any potential overheating during long shoots is a unique accessory for Fujifilm’s X-H2S – and simply screws onto the rear in seconds. It takes power from a connection directly to the camera. In normal temperatures, heat isn’t usually a problem. If you are shooting high-end codecs in temperatures up to 40°C, the fan will extend the time before overheating becomes a problem from 15 to around 51 minutes. The fan is super-quiet and costs just £169/$199.
